GROVER BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT (Contact Here)
The Grover Beach Police Officers Association is sponsoring a fundraising drive to collect funds to provide a Merry Christmas to two local hand-selected Grover Beach families in need. To raise money, GBPD and other local south county police agencies are participating in a month-long rowing competition at area gyms. The $20 entry fee will be used for gifts for the families in need. Donate towards this cause by cash or check at the Police Officers Association at GBPD headquarters.
GBPD is also happy to participate in two additional toy drives! They are accepting new/unwrapped toys on behalf of the SLO County Salvation Army and on behalf of the 5 Cities Homeless Coalition. All donations stay local within the south county and can dropped off in the GBPD lobby during normal business hours at 711 Rockaway Ave in Grover Beach.
GBPD will be participating in “Operation Holiday Cheer” with other police agencies in the county. On December 18th, a large caravan of first responders will travel to all local hospitals to spread some love and holiday cheer to those working in the healthcare industry.

ARROYO GRANDE POLICE DEPARTMENT
The 38th annual Santa Cop Program formed to help families less fortunate during the holiday season. Police Officers, through their community contacts, are familiar with children from families with difficult financial and family situations.
AGPD has partnered with non-profit organizations such as the SLO County Dept. of Social Services, 5Cities Homeless Coalition, Mission Hope Cancer, and Transitions Mental Health Association to help identify families in need and vulnerable in our community. The support we provide is very family specific. In some cases, we will purchase jackets for children to keep warm, especially during these winter months. Another example would be a fuel card provided to families who are traveling to and from medical appointments, grocery stores, or school. For our older population they may need medical supplies, blankets, bathing necessities and such. Many of the people receiving Santa Cop gifts are local Arroyo Grande residents, but the assistance often spans the five cities area.
Santa Cop is supported by donations from Arroyo Grande residents to the PD. It’s astonishing that this program has been around for 38 years and is supported by the community. The community of Arroyo Grande is helping make families’ lives a little brighter during Christmas.
CONNECT AND DONATE HERE: The police department takes cash or check donations all year round. We are located at 200 N. Halcyon Rd., or call AGPD at 805-473-5127
