Some Santa Maria kids are learning what it takes to be a firefighter this week. The Junior and Teen firefighter Camps kicked off yesterday at Fire Station Number 2. The kids range in age between 8 and 12, and 13 to 17. depending on the age group, they will learn important rescue skills, basic emergency medical technician procedures, how to use attack and supply hoses and many other firefighting skills. Teens will also learn about how to start a career as a firefighter.
