City Council Approves After Action Report And Calls For Oversight Committee

The San Luis Obispo City Council has approved and filed the SLO P.D.’s after action report. The report is a review of police actions taken during the June 1st Black Lives Matter protest, including the use of tear gas to disperse the crowd. While most council members supported police for maintaining public safety, there was a call by Council members Jan Marx and Erica Stewart to create an oversight committee. According to the Tribune, both felt such a committee could help the police and the public when problems arise.
