The spectacular storm that rolled over the Central Coast last night produced thunder, lightning, heavy rain, and power outages. Several thousand PG&E and Southern California Edison customers were without power last night. The storm also prompted evacuation orders for residents who live below burn areas. Caltrans also closed a section of Highway 1 in both directions due to flooding in Guadalupe. To the north, Highway 1 was closed yesterday afternoon in anticipation of the storm.
