A new popular county hot spot has some drawbacks. With 11 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, and stunning vistas, the Pismo Preserve has become the trail to be on. But with popularity comes problems. Parking is the major one. Hikers have been parking in a dirt lot down the hill from the main parking lot. So they have to hike to the hike. City officials say they plan to build a permanent sidewalk to the preserve parking lot to keep users safe.
