Another piece of San Luis Obispo history will have to make way for progress. A new parking garage and expanded performing arts theater is headed to downtown San Luis Obispo. But in order for the project to forward, the city has to figure out what to do with the Hyde adobe building that has been downtown since the 1930’s. It’s not on any city or state historic lists and City planners say it could cost close to a million dollars to move it to another location. Construction on the parking structure could begin late next year.
