Nearly 2,000 volunteers spread out across area beaches, parks and lakes on the Central Coast on Saturday morning for the annual Coastal Cleanup Day. The event, organized by ECOSLO collected more than 11,500 pounds trash and about 825 pounds of recyclables. The most common items found by a group of volunteers in Pismo Beach were cigarette butts, glass and plastic bottles, trash bags and food bags.
