Two window washers working on an Oklahoma City high-rise were saved in a dramatic rescue yesterday after their basket platform was whipped back and forth by heavy winds.
Crowds watched below as the platform swung wildly away from the building and smashed into the glass, 50 stories up.
First responders threw balls of coiled-up rope to the window washers, who were able to secure the ropes to the sides of the platform. They were able to anchor the platform so it wasn’t moving around so violently.
Within 47 minutes, the fire department announced that the two individuals had been rescued.
Neither of the two window washers were hurt.
