Arroyo Grande residents are being asked to register their home surveillance cameras with the police department. A.G.P.D. wants to build a citywide database of surveillance camera locations. The program is similar to ones started by Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo Police departments last year. Officials say they have increased success when it comes to catching suspects who are caught on video. Police will not have direct access to any of the registered cameras, and the information will only be available to A.G.P.D. personnel for official use.
