A high-speed chase on the Central Coast landed a Southern California fugitive behind bars. CHP investigators say it started Tuesday afternoon when officers noticed a motorcyclist speeding on Highway 41. When they tried to stop him, the motorcyclist sped off toward Atascadero. He eventually ended up headed to Morro Bay, where the pursuit ended. 58-year-old William Machado Jr. is facing several charges. Bail was set at 50,000 dollars.
