The San Luis Obispo County Health Department says it has confirmed a Cal Poly student has contracted Chickenpox. Cal Poly officials sent out a campus-wide email alert yesterday. Officials say they are trying to determine where the student may have visited on campus to reduce the risk of exposure to other students. Chickenpox is a highly contagious disease that can particularly dangerous to babies, teens, adults and pregnant woman. Anyone who shows symptoms of the disease should contact their doctor or go to a hospital emergency room.
