A wind-driven fire in Santa Barbara forced the evacuations of several homes was last reported to be 50-percent contained. The Loma Fire was first reported at around 9 o’clock last night in the area of TV Hill. One resident tried to douse the embers himself, then fled. By 11:30 firefighters were able to start getting a handle on the flames. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
