Lompoc Federal Prison has close to 600 cases of confirmed COVID-19. That report comes after the prison began testing all of the inmates in the low-security unit of the complex earlier this week. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a total of 574 inmates have tested positive for the virus. Another 25 staff members have also tested positive. Two inmates with long-term, pre-existing medical conditions also died as a result of the virus.
