While many counties across California will make moves to reopen their economies this weekend, San Luis Obispo County will not be one of them. Governor Gavin Newsom is expected to issue an executive order this Friday that would allow some retail businesses to partially reopen. But according to a press release, San Luis Obispo County can’t start its phased reopening plan until three things happen: the state must lift or modify its shelter-at-home order; it must also allow for local control; and the county must issue another executive order moving to Phase 1. Officials say it’s unclear if the state will give the county the latitude to move forward.
