Judge Rules Chief Must Release Text And Communication Records

The judge in the case of the couple who were swept up during a search for San Luis Obispo Police Chief Deanna Cantrell’s missing gun has ruled that she must release her texts and emails, along with other recorded police communications, related to the search. Cheyne Orndoff and his wife, Vanessa Bedroni were arrested when Orndoff mistakenly identified as a suspect. Judge Tim Covello ruled Tuesday that the defense attorneys are entitled to communications records as part of the case discovery. Orndoff and Bedroni have both pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
