Carrie Underwood stopped by the rehearsal of Andrew Jackson Elementary School’s Eagle Honor Choir before their performance at CMA Fest, giving them the surprise of a lifetime.
The third- and fourth-graders from Old Hickory, Tenn., caught the attention of Underwood with their video performing her song “Champion” earlier this year. As a recipient of the CMA Foundation’s grant to ensure music education for every child, the choir got the opportunity to perform at this year’s CMA Fest.
Directed by three-time CMA Foundation Music Teacher of Excellence winner Franklin Willis, the choir performed in front of 50,000 people at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on June 9.
CMA Fest airs on ABC on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
