Santa Maria residents who have been wondering if Shaw’s Steakhouse would ever re-open following a destructive fire in January can rest easy. The iconic landmark on South Broadway has seen a flurry of activity over the past couple of months. The entire building needed to be demolished after a fire ripped through one of Santa Maria’s favorite eateries. Construction crews say the walls are up and once they have a roof on the new building, everything else should fall into place. They expect to have the Steakhouse re-opened by mid-October.
