The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of a human skull in Morro Bay. The skull was found by a Caltrans maintenance crew yesterday morning near the Highway 1 and Morro Bay Blvd. intersection. The off ramp was closed. Coroners Office investigators and a pathologist confirmed the skull was human and believe it had been there for several months to a year. A search and rescue team will search for any additional remains. Officials say the cause of death and identity of the remains are currently “undetermined”.
