Gas Tax Funding To Pay For S.M. Street Repairs

Santa Maria city officials say they plan to put state gas tax funds to good use this summer. Four projects are ready to get underway. officials say about 25 miles of pavement in a number of neighborhoods will be fixed. The cost of the repairs to East Alvin Avenue, South College Drive, and El Camino Street will cost 2.5 million dollars. The funding comes from state gas tax revenues. City officials say they expect 30 million dollars in gas tax revenue over the next ten years.
