A project meant to help the homeless and troubled teens was met with protest yesterday. A mixture of congregation members and neighbors of Hillside Church in Grover Beach held a Sunday service outside the church to protest plans to turn the church into a homeless center. The center would include 20 permanent housing units and up to 40 beds for transitional housing. Opponents of the project have safety concerns. The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has approved funding for the project. If approved by the Grover Beach City Council, Construction could begin next year…
