This time of year is the sweet spot for the Central Coast as far as weather is concerned. We’re coming out of a rainy season that provided an abundance of precipitation. That rain helped the grasses on the surrounding hills grow, turning green. But fire officials know those green grasses are getting ready to dry out, turning into fuel for a fire. Cal Fire officials say there are several areas throughout the county that are considered to be high risk for possible wildfire. Residents are reminded, to be prepared for potential wildfires by taking fire prevention steps around your homes.
