Grover Beach Murder Suspect Appears In Court

The Indiana man accused of driving 2,000 miles to murder his mother in Grover Beach was in court yesterday. Prosecutors believe, 26-year-old Levente Lazar stabbed his mother to death last year for financial gain. He has pleaded not guilty to a single charge of First Degree Murder. 64-year-old Athena Valentiny was discovered by Grover Beach Police officers, who were performing a welfare check. The D.A.’s office will be looking for a sentence of Life in prison without the possibility of parole due to Lazar’s alleged financial motive. He’s due back in court on May 1st.
