The former Grover Beach Police officer whose dog was involved in a deadly attack in 2016 took the stand yesterday. The prosecution in the case rested its criminal case against Alex Geiger yesterday afternoon. He took the stand to tell the court about his training and his dog’s training. Prosecutors claim Geiger’s dog Neo escaped his yard and attacked 85-year-old Betty Long and 64-year-old David Fear. Fear would die from his injuries. The defense will now begin calling its own witnesses and experts to the stand. Closing arguments from both sides are expected by April 9th.
