Santa Maria drivers are being warned about possible delays due to construction that will last all week. Officials say the north section of Thornburg Street at Betteravia Road is temporarily closed as the roadway is repaired. Workers will be replacing concrete that was damaged during recent emergency underground utility work. While the actual work will only take a couple of days, the closure will be in place until Friday to let the new concrete develop proper strength. Alternate routes are advised to reduce delays.
