A Santa Maria man is behind bars on suspicion of child abuse. Police say an investigation began in June, based on a tip regarding a potential abuse victim. The investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old Joel McClain. He was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail. Bail was set at 350,000 dollars.
