The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in San Luis Obispo County has risen to 46 in 11 days. Officials say they are preparing for a surge and need help from the community. While they have ordered 100 more respirators and made plans for 1,000 additional hospital beds, medical staffing remains a concern. Yesterday, Health Officer Dr. Penny Borenstein called for volunteers to join the Medical Reserve Corps. She said qualified people in all types of healthcare are needed.
