More prescribed burns are scheduled to begin this morning on the Central Coast. People in Morro Bay could see or smell smoke as Cal Fire and the Morro Bay Fire Department conduct a series of pile burns beginning at 9 this morning. Some potential burn sites are along Quintana Rd. off La Loma Ave., off Lower State Park Rd. at the Y-intersection and the forest area behind the Carmel and Ridgeway St. dead ends. Officials say the burns are an effort to reduce dead and dying trees and reduce the risk of potential fire.
