This week’s Pet Pal is Surrey, a 2-year-old, red & white coated Coonhound who transferred into Woods Humane Society’s adoption program in June. Surrey is spayed, current on vaccinations, leash trained, and micro chipped. She gets along well with other dogs and has recently been working as a K9 Companion in the shelter’s Summer Critter Camp Program. When Surrey is not working with a local youth during camp, she is going on offsite adventures with shelter volunteers. Surrey is also working as a K9 Ambassador for WHS’ outreach program and has participated in recent offsite events in the community. Always a star, Surrey—although occasionally shy—gets along great with people. She is a very gentle dog and is easy to walk on a leash. Surrey is looking for a family with older, considerate children or a house with property and room to run. She will most likely end up sleeping at the foot of your bed every night. If you are looking for a great companion who is simply gorgeous and fun to be around, consider stopping by Woods Humane Society and spend some time getting to know Surrey! WHS’ Community Programs Director mentioned “Surrey is one of the best hounds I have seen come through WHS in the past six years”!
