This week’s Pet Pal is Penelope, an 8-year-old Basset Hound who has called WHS home since May. Penelope is spayed, current on vaccinations, micro chipped, most likely house trained, leash trained, and an all-around wonderful “companion” dog. She was brought to the shelter by her previous owner due to a home foreclosure. Penelope is currently working as a Critter Camp dog and is paired up with a local child each week at WHS. She is also, participating in the shelter’s outreach program and regularly makes appearances at community events. Penelope is a sweetheart of a dog with a very mild and gentle personality. She is a low-maintenance K9 and would be perfect for a family with children or for an older household looking for a companion. She walks very well on a leash (our Community Programs Director’s 1.5 year old son was walking her around a recent event) and loves going for short walks. Penelope gets along very well with other dogs, likes to lay in the sun, and would be happiest if she had the ability to weigh down a corner of your porch all day. Penelope’s adoption fee is sponsored by our good friends at San Luis Sourdough so what are you waiting for?
