This week’s featured pet is Cowboy, a 3-year-old Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix who has called Woods Humane Society home since April. Cowboy transferred into our facility from Kern County, is neutered, current on vaccinations and micro chipped. He is a confident dog who is happy around people and will greet you with a smile and a wagging tail. Cowboy is an affectionate dog who will jump in your lap and give you kisses. He is food/treat motivated and easy to train. Cowboy gets along with other dogs but takes a little bit of time to warm up to new K9 friends and would do best with larger breed dogs(Cowboy is not a dog park type of dog). He will do well in a home with children (any age) but cannot live with cats. WHS Staff members have commented on how Cowboy turns into a goof-ball when playing with his friends in his play group. Cowboy has recently participated in WHS’ outreach program and is making “Fur Therapy” visits to Cal Poly to assist students relieve some of the stress associated with finals. Cowboy walks well on lead and travels great in the car.
