Conception Captain Faces Manslaughter Charges

A federal indictment against the captain of the dive boat Conception, which caught fire and sank last year in the waters off the coast Santa Barbara. ABC’s Alex Stone reports, 33 passengers and one crew member died in the fire. The NTSB found several lapses on board the dive boat, including no night watchman on duty as required by maritime law. Now a federal grand jury indicting Captain Jerry Boylan on 34 counts of seaman’s manslaughter. Boylan is expected to turn himself in in the coming weeks. If found guilty, he could get 10 years in federal prison for each of the 34 counts.
