Garth Brooks stopped by Kelly Clarkson’s talk show on Monday and serenaded the songstress with a number of acoustic covers.

When asked what his favorite songs are to cover, Garth delved into a number of mini renditions of tunes by Otis Redding, James Taylor and more. His ability to nail any song prompted Clarkson to crown Brooks as “the Meryl Streep of music.”

However, it was his famous cover of Bob Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love” that stopped the show. Clarkson explained, ”I just recently did that song on the show with Ben Platt. He knew that song from Bob Dylan and I had no idea that Bob Dylan existed when I was a kid. No one around me listened to Bob Dylan, but I sure as hell knew your version. I thought it was a Garth Brooks song like until I was 20.”

Brooks then began to sing the song, to which Clarkson immediately teared up. After he finished singing, she wiped her tears and said, “If you would have told me as a kid that moment would have happened–I just can’t believe my life sometimes.”
