The Pismo Beach City Council has approved the expansion of an existing smoke-ban ordinance. With a 3 to 2 vote, Smoking is now prohibited on sidewalks, outdoor dining areas, ATM lines, or farmers markets in addition to public parks, beaches, or the Pismo Beach Pier. The ordinance will take effect in 30 days. City Officials say, people caught breaking the new rules will face more than $200 in fines.
