Forest Crews Work On Fire Fuel Mitigation

In an effort to get a jump on the upcoming fire season, Forest Service crews are busy in the Los Padres National Forest have been removing potential wildfire fuels. Severe drought and an infestation of bark beetle have killed scores of trees throughout California. Crews are cutting those dead trees up and making piles that they’ll burn at a later date, eliminating potentially hazardous fire fuel.
