“Superbloom” At Carrizo National Monument? Maybe

Recent heavy rains have Fans of the Carrizo Plain National Monument are hoping for a so-called Superbloom this spring. In 2017, drought-busting rains created conditions perfect for an explosion of color from native wildflowers. Experts say it’s still too early to tell what kind of wildflower activity we’ll have on the Carrizo Plain, adding that the first wildflowers will likely begin showing up next month and continue to bloom through April.
